This song came together very fast when I was writing it ... as an answer to questions I was asking myself .When we recorded it , I wanted to sing in a way I had only rarely sung before ( on an Odetta cover of Waterboy ) and to give the backing vocals freedom to be as wild as they wanted ...
New single Into The Light is the atmospheric and sometimes opaque album’s most jubilant song, it’s title and lyrical refrain taps into the biblical references peppered throughout the long-player, with themes of darkness to light, the ‘ringing bell’ in the album’s title representing a wake-up call, with the album ultimately celebrating the present not the past, and the joyous, liberating freedom and new found understanding of one’s own strength post a period of struggle and survival.
